K-keep him... around...?
Almost immediately, Five's face grew flushed. His cheeks were bright red and warm, and he was completely stunned that she had asked that so flirtatiously. His heart felt as thought it wanted to burst out of his chest, and he opened his mouth as if to say something... but nothing would quite come out. His voice was seriously caught in his throat, all from a small amount of flirting and the thought of her actually keeping him around even after his assignment had ended.
"I..." He began. "I... uh..."
Began was being awfully generous.
Five would clear his throat, trying not to panic (or jump for joy, which would probably cause her to panic), before recomposing himself and trying to speak again.
"... I... I will, uh... i-if it comes to that, I could always ask if..."
God, what was he thinking?
"... I'll keep you updated."
That was a safe answer, right? She was probably just playing around anyway, but man did the good half of this assignment feel too good to be true. He didn't want to just tell her yes, but in case she was even being a little bit serious, he didn't want to tell her no. Wait, why would she be serious about that? They had just met. They were strangers to one another. She was probably trying to lighten the mood, though he supposed it wouldn't hurt to play along now and then. Just because he was a hired bodyguard didn't mean he couldn't enjoy his time around her, right?
Afraid her eyes would pull him in someplace irreversible if he kept looking at her, he would look away briefly, pocketing his pen and notebook. They could potentially be together for a very long time if this wasn't resolved, and if she was this playful even in person... He foresaw many a challenge in his future at hiding how flustered he got.

Did... did she just break him?
Oh, this was going to be fun.
She had half expected him to berate her behavior and reiterate the professional nature of their relationship, not combust into a blushing flame right in front of her. If sweet words and playful flirting were enough to make him embarrassed, then she had a feeling he'd have a problem with her business, for sure. She'd need to be more discrete about making her other content, or else she'd worry the poor man would faint from the blood rush just knowing what she was doing. God, this was going to be a disaster. A delightfully chaotic disaster.
At least this meant he wasn't a complete stiff, and was capable of at least some human emotion other than professional confidence, and if that meant she had to be playful around him more often to see him crack like an egg, then that was a challenge she was willing to accept. Unless he confronted her about it and made her stop, of course, in which case she'd be more concerned about ensuring that her antics didn't cost them their arrangement. As fun as messing around with him might turn out to be, she had to remember the reason they were going to be living together in the first place. Ensure her safety, potentially stop some crazy psycho stalker, and then go back to their normal lives.
Claret couldn't keep the smile from her face, though. She could make the best out of this crazy situation, yet.
"Sure," she replied, leaning back in her seat to show that she was backing off. She was clearly a bit smug about the effect she had on him. "So when can you move in?"

Little did she know, her business was a huge reason he was so bashful and weak in her presence. It was one thing to hear her talk so sweet and playfully through a screen, but to hear it in person-- directed at him no less-- made his heart want to combust into flames right in his chest. It was strange, nothing ever quite got to him like this. With any client, he would've been able to come off as aloof and stoic, but THE Claret Vauleaux was here flirting with him. This had to be some really elaborate prank.
He almost wished it was, anyway. The fact she was in danger was truly worrisome.
Five looked at Claret, seeing she was smiling. It was a really pretty smile, and he wished he was daring enough to compliment her on it. But that would be crossing the line on what was okay in a professional setting. He had a feeling she didn't quite mind though.
She asked when he could move in, and it helped the reality of everything set in even further. God, he wasn't sure if his heart would ever calm down at this rate.
"Whenever you're willing to have me." He said. "Right now, even." Wordplay?
In a case as serious as this, the sooner they acted the better. Every second they dawdled could have consequences. Right now, Claret had the element of surprise in suddenly having a new bodyguard, especially a trained leader of the Kenne family. He had dealt with cases that sounded far more extreme than this, but it didn't mean he wasn't going to take it any less serious. He'd put his everything into making sure everything ends up great for Claret in the end.
"I can have some of my things brought over overtime."
Gradually meant that it would look less suspicious to anyone watching in. His things could be disguised as deliveries for anything else too, so no one would be all the wiser. Protecting her public image was almost as important as protecting her life, even if the thought of the media thinking he was her boyfriend was... pleasant.

He was absolutely terrible with phrasing, wasn't he? Or maybe she just had a really, really dirty mind.
Ugh, if she hadn't already pulled her flirt card just now, she'd be half tempted to turn his "have me" statement back on him just to see him crumple in embarrassment, but that would really be way too cruel. She liked messing with people, but she didn't make a habit of torturing them. And if she kept flirting with him, he'd probably end up thinking she was a slut (not that some people didn't already think that as it is).
The option to have him move his stuff over gradually seemed a lot safer and discrete, but then the poor guy would be without a lot of his stuff until he was completely moved over. Well, he could move in some of his stuff immediately, and then other stuff could come in over time. Did he have a lot of stuff? Her home was kind of cluttered, the idea of him bringing a lot of junk felt like a very hectic idea. She could make it work though, maybe reorganize some stuff and set aside a space for him. Yeah, this could work.
"Works for me," she said. "You can pack some of your stuff up and come over tonight or tomorrow morning, and then you can move the rest of your stuff in whenever you want." It sounded like a decent enough arrangement. She'd let him move things in at his leisure-- it's his stuff, not hers, so she wasn't going to nag him about making sure he had all his things at any certain date. If he thought bringing things in over time was a good idea, then she'd roll with it. If not, then at least he could get himself situated right away and be done with it.
"I imagine you want to inspect my home and everything right away, right? You can just move in then." She paused, thinking. "Actually-- if you want to give me the evening to tidy up, you can come over first thing in the morning. You probably need time to pack and everything, too."

It seemed that Claret had laid off a little bit on the flirting, which he was torn between being a good thing or a bad thing for the time being. He liked it, but he was unfortunately being paid to be professional. It was a nice reprieve from the heavier tone from earlier, and while it was a very serious situation, he hoped that there would be a lot of lighthearted moments later to make things much easier on them both.
Claret seemed really nice and sweet though, much like her online personality seemed to suggest. For that, he was grateful that his longtime perception of her didn't just crash and burn. She seemed to have a good heart, which made him want to protect her all the more.
"That sounds fine. I'm only bringing a few necessities to start with... but I don't want to intrude if you don't feel ready."
The sooner their arrangement was complete, the better. But chances were things would be more dangerous if they just straight up left this building together right now too. It might be safer to come by in the morning.
"Just promise me you'll be safe until then. You have my number, so don't hesitate to call if you need me to come by even sooner than the morning." He said. "And now, or absolutely any time in the future, if you need to ping me in a hurry, just call me for a split second, or text me even something as simple as a single letter, whichever is quicker, and I'll know what it means and be on my way. I'll understand even if you hang up right away."
He understood that in a serious life or death situation, time was always of the essence. Using the phone could leave one vulnerable or compromise their hiding place, and he didn't want to put her in even more danger by asking for his help.
"Of course, I don't ever plan on being far. I don't think you'll ever find a need to do any of this."
Five gave a reassuring smile. He just wanted things to be safe for her.

Claret felt relieved that he'd thought of the unfortunate predicament where she needed to contact him for help but didn't have the time or safety to send him more than a quick text or a silent call. She'd thought of those kinds of scenarios before, in all those crime dramas where someone's hiding under a bed or in a closet, and couldn't speak to call 911, or they were running and couldn't text a coherent word. Those were all unlikely but very real situations, so she was glad they were on the same page about that much. But he was right-- ideally he'd be around to make sure those situations never enter the realm of possibility.
He'd done a well enough job of reassuring her that he could keep her safe in theory, but she had yet to see if his smarts and skills were actually beneficial in practice. She wanted to trust that he could do his job, they wouldn't be paying him this much otherwise, but that didn't mean a part of her wasn't still somewhat skeptical. Hopefully he never needed to physically defend her from a real threat, and that this whole thing would just blow over like it never happened. She couldn't attest for his skills in self defense or his ability to keep a level head under pressure, but she wanted to trust him. She didn't have a choice.
"I promise I'll be safe. I'm going straight home after this, and I'll text you when I walk in the door if it makes you feel better. I'll send you my address, too." After a moment of contemplation, she finished the rest of her drink.
"Is there anything else we need to talk about while we're both here?"
She figured that since they had gone through some of the more relevant information already, they could talk more tomorrow. He was the one working for her though, if he had any questions, she was more than willing to answer them. They were about to spend a lot of time together.

Five nodded as she said she'll text him upon getting home, as well as send her address over. Just an hour ago, he never so much as dreamed about talking directly to her. Now he's going to be moving in with her for potentially months. This went from an average day he didn't want to deal with, to being both overwhelming and exciting all at once.
He sat and thought for a moment about if they needed to discuss anything else.
"I think that's it for now. I know it's probably quite burdensome, but I'd like for you to check in regularly until I get there too. Every couple of hours at a minimum, the exception being when you go to sleep." Because naturally, she couldn't text him while asleep.
"I won't be bringing over too many of my own personal effects, so don't worry about giving me too much space. Besides routine checks around the home, and with you, I'm going to do my best to stay out of your way. It's ultimately your home and your rules."
He couldn't really think of anything else vital at this time. Everything else would be when they were settled in together.
"For now, I believe that's it. Anything else would have to come after I see your place."

She could text him. That sounded easy enough-- it wasn't like she wasn't already addicted to social media and her phone, anyway. She had to remember to be vigilant about making sure she stayed in constant contact with him, though a part of her was worried she'd end up being more of an annoyance than anything. Well, she'd be doing what he asked of her, so really he can't fault her for sending him spam if she really wanted to, not that she would. She wouldn't say she was above many things, but she was definitely above spam.
Claret respected his acknowledgement that he was staying in her home and that he would be out of her way as much as possible. Good. That way, she could mess with him and get to know him on her own time and at her own pace, without any unnecessarily awkward pressure. She wanted to know who he was, get a better sense of who the man behind a name like Five really is. The cracks were clearly there-- now all she had to do was smash the rest of the shell. While he was busy trying to protect her and do his job, she'd get to work tearing down all those walls he has up, one by one, one way or another. She just had to be subtle about it, butter him up a little, get him to lower his guard around her. Easy.
"Alright then. Sounds good to me." She'd say, grabbing her purse and standing up. "I'll see you in the morning, Five. Have a good night." She smiled, something sugary and sweet and beaming with affection.
And then she left, just like that, making her way out of the establishment and down a glass elevator, leaving her new bodyguard and her lonely life behind.

The way she said bye to him was ridiculously sweet and cute, and her smile left his heart feeling all kinds of happy and grand emotions. Seeing how she genuinely was up close, he couldn't believe anyone would ever want to hurt her. But then, maybe they just took the happy feelings that he felt to an absolute extreme.
He had to protect her, no matter the cost.
"Yeah, take care, Claret." He'd return the smile. "I hope to hear from you in a little bit."
Claret would leave, and he'd watch her walk away, a strange feeling welling up within him between the desire to jump for joy, and sadness that he couldn't have spent longer in her presence. No matter though, he was going to see her again very soon. He just hoped he could keep his composure considerably more together when the time came.
Waiting for a while after she left just in case the two were seen together, Five finally got up from his table and made his way back to the stairs that he used to come in. He would gesture to his guards on the way, who would then get in contact with any of the others who were deeper in, and make their way to the front of the building.
The three vehicles from before were waiting for them, and Five would enter the center one while the others entered their respective cars. As they pulled away and headed home, Five could feel his heart still racing and his cheeks still a little flushed. His hand was on his phone, anxiously awaiting her word that she arrived home safe.
"Sir, is something the matter?" The driver would ask, and Five would just smile while looking out the window.
"Things are quite well, actually..."
